- Date Mandate Goes Into Effect – January 1, 2023
- Duration of Training Required – 1 hour of Implicit Bias Awareness training for Healthcare Professionals
- Renewal Requirements – Annual 1 hour of Implicit Bias Awareness refresher training.
In January 2023, the State of Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) took an important step to address health care disparities and improve equity in the delivery of healthcare to all Illinois residents. IDFPR has adopted new administrative rules that require implicit bias training as part of the knowledge and skills necessary for the licensure or registration of health care professionals in Illinois.
